Fish take it for one of the many beetles falling into the water. It is highly visible also in fast water and it effective also fished under the surface. The yellow color should not confuse the angler: it’s true that beetles don’t have this colourful appearance but fish see the fly from under the surface, against the sun and in full brilliance. Under this situation, colors appear all dark. The yellow – or light color – of the above part of the fly is intended to help the angler in tracing his cast.
