Rio Paranza

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERARio Paranza runs deep into a very narrow valley (forra), sheltered from everybody and everything. It springs out from the Mount Cimino and ends its way in the Tiber, near Orte, crossing a green and silent valley . Most of its way to the Tiber crosses a very important archeological area (Etruscan site of Palazzolo) and has lots of caves, ancient houses…
The water color tends to white because of the chemical composition of this land but is very clean and with big pools, fast reaches. It’s the typical chub stream but trout are periodically put in and can be found all the year round in spite of the high water temperature during summer. In some cases, it looks like an Alps stream.
